Frequently asked questions
Does XbyX Daily Energy contain lectins?
Lectins are found in raw legumes, grains, and similar foods. Cooking deactivates lectins in these foods. The plant proteins in XbyX Daily Energy also undergo a manufacturing process that deactivates lectins.
Why does it contain taurine?
Taurine is an effective antioxidant. It is a naturally occurring amino acid-like compound formed from the amino acids L-cysteine and L-methionine. Taurine is found in high amounts in the brain, heart, bile fluid, muscles, and white blood cells. In XbyX Daily Energy, we use vegan L-taurine of high-purity pharmaceutical quality. XbyX Daily Energy also includes other antioxidants like Q10 and olive fruit polyphenols, in addition to taurine.
Does it contain iodine? Can I take it if I have Hashimoto's and hypothyroidism?
Each serving contains 63.8 micrograms of iodine, which corresponds to 43% of the recommended daily intake. In most cases, small amounts of iodine are well tolerated and support the thyroid in individuals with Hashimoto's and hypothyroidism. However, any iodine supplementation should be avoided in cases of hyperthyroidism. If you are unsure, please consult with your doctor or medical health practitioner before taking our products.
Does it contain soy?
No, XbyX Daily Energy is soy-free. Soy is, of course, a top source of protein. You can supplement with soy by preparing XbyX Daily Energy with soy-based products such as soy milk alternative, yoghurt, curd or skyr.
How much protein do I need?
That depends on your body size and level of physical activity. The recommended daily intake according to the PROT-AGE study is 1.0-1.2 grams per kilogram of body weight. More information can be found in the article Women over 40 need more protein. For individuals who engage in a lot of exercise, including both endurance and strength training, a higher protein intake of 1.2-1.5 g/kg body weight per day is recommended. Ideally, protein intake should be spread across all three meals per day.
